ROBOTICON Tampa Bay 2017 was our biggest and best event ever, with over 3000 attendees, between teams and public guests! We can’t thank everyone enough, from the University of South Florida and Hillsborough County to all our incredible volunteers.  Because of you, ROBOTICON:

Team Spirit Award winners, LEGO Pros from New Port Richey

Many thanks to the great crew from Central Florida Robotics who ran our FIRST LEGO League and FIRST LEGO League Jr. programs, and to West Florida Robotics for providing FIRST LEGO League Judge and Volunteer training.

Three FIRST LEGO League Jr. teams made a splash at ROBOTICON. They started their Aqua Adventure  season in August and came to share some of their experiences and LEGO builds they have started. They shared with the public the excitement and fun they have for building with LEGO Bricks, learning the Core Values of FIRST LEGO League Jr., and their dive into their exploration of the water’s journey. Cheers and Hi-5s to these great teams:

  • Robust Design – Master Builders


A dozen FIRST LEGO League teams faced off for HydroDynamics scrimmages at ROBOTICON and these great teams took home awards:

  • Robot Performance Award (150 Points) – Team 24334 The Incredibotz
  • Team Spirit Award – Team 30648 Tie Dye Gummy Divas
  • Awesome Pit Award – Team 30512 Dragon Force

About a dozen FIRST Tech Challenge middle and high school teams used the day to work on the robots and get some Relic Recovery field time at ROBOTICON.  Thank you to ROBOT League of Tampa Bay for helping make our FIRST Tech Challenge area possible and congrats to these three great teams for taking home trophies:

FIRST Robotics Competition

It’s not FIRST without dancing!

Nearly 30 FIRST Robotics Competition teams competed at ROBOTICON this year, playing last season’s FIRST STEAMWorks game.  Congrats to these award winners:

Barry Bohnsack visited this year, too, and we all got to enjoy the audience roller coaster ride!
