It’s time to start meeting some of the teams competing in the ROBOTICON 2026! The FIRST Robotics
Competition Off-Season is ROBOTICON’s signature event, and as the only 2-day FRC Off-Season in Florida, brings in teams from around the state looking for an experience close to the multiday Regional competitions teams enjoy in-season.
We’ll kick off our 2026 ROBOTICON Spotlight series with FIRST Robotics Competition Team 5276, Edgar Allan Ohms. Team 5276 is the only community-based FIRST Robotics Competition team in Tampa and Hillsborough County. The team is comprised of youth ages 12-18 from at least 7 different middle and high schools and homeschools. The team is based at AMRoC Fab Lab, and also helps manage and maintain the HCPS-FCDI STEM Center.
Interesting Team Fact: The Edgar Allan Ohms robotics team was the first FIRST Robotics Competition team that was started and operated out of a public library – hence the literary name! – and was headquartered at the Land O’Lakes Public Library in Pasco County for its first five years.
The team is active in outreach events year round, and this year, the team helped build programmable training
robots for the University of South Florida Introduction to Production Systems program, and presented on Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) to the class.
