We’ve got four FIRST Tech Challenge robotics teams joining us from Palm Harbor University High School this year. They each shared a little about themselves in advance of our ROBOTICON FIRST Tech Challenge Day on October 23.

Team 516 Gears of Fire

Team 516 Gears of Fire was founded in 2007 and is the 2nd oldest team in Florida. Team 516 during last years Maryland Tech Invitational placed 2nd overall.

Team 3101 Boom Bots

We are a high school robotics team from Palm Harbor, Florida. All of our team members love STEM and FIRST and we encourage those in our community to learn about them. We were the World Champions for the Rover Ruckus event in 2019.

Team 3830, Violet FusionĀ

Our team of rookies are dedicated and committed to creating an effective and consistent robot with plans to go to the FIRST Tech Challenge Championship and beyond. We have plans for lots of outreach and are committed to make it happen.

We consist of a mainly new team with only three returning members. We are also an internationally diverse team, and our team leader, lead programmer, and lead on the notebook team are all women.

Team 3839 Mechanical Geniuses

This will be our 3rd year. In our 1st year, we advanced to the State Championship (last in-person competition before COVID restrictions). We also won Motivate, 3rd place Control, and 3rd place Innovate last year

We received our team number from an old team, known as Fatal Error, that is no longer competing, hence why we are a relatively new team with such a low number.

PHUHS teams are sponsored by Pinellas County Schools, Raytheon, TBTA, FIRST, Target, Farco, Alro Plastics, BCI, Rockwell Collins, BMC Software, Nielsen, Practice Forces, Fast Signs, Anthony’s Coal Fire Pizza, Shookai, Connect Wise, The Spice and Tea Exchange, Rev Robotics, goBILDA, TampaBaySteel.

You can see these great FIRST Tech Challenge teams and more this coming Saturday, October 23, during our final day of ROBOTICON programming, from 11am to 4pm at AMROC Fab Lab at University Mall!
