We’re happy and grateful to welcome back as a ROBOTICON 2019 sponsor, the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA )Tampa – St. Petersburg Pelican Chapter. AFCEA has been part of ROBOTICON Tampa Bay since our early days at the University of Tampa, and we’re grateful for this wonderful organization’s support. Here’s a bit more about the group.
AFCEA is an international organization that serves its members by providing a forum for the ethical exchange of information. AFCEA is dedicated to increasing knowledge through the exploration of issues relevant to its members in information technology, communications, and electronics for the defense, homeland security and intelligence communities.
The Tampa-St. Petersburg AFCEA Chapter supports ROBOTICON’s efforts in piquing young people’s interest in serving their community while encouraging their enthusiasm in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics because STEM is equally a large focus of our local chapter’s mission within our community in Tampa Bay.
We believe ROBOTICON is important because it encourages youth to see the true application of their learned STEM abilities and how to work as a team, which often allows them to walk away motivated and driven to continue their engagement with STEM as they become the future for our industry.
We hope ROBOTICON ignites a drive in participating students to increase their knowledge and abilities through STEM and they will one day be the movers and shakers in our industry.
