Would we lie? That’s really their name! The Tie Dye Gummy Divas (#30648) are a community FIRST LEGO League team from Valrico, Florida. All four members are fifth-graders at Alafia Elementary School who are returning for their second season. Their motto is “Gummy Bears Stick Together!”
The team enjoys showing their spirit, presenting their research, and sharing their experiences at outreach events. They helped West Florida Robotics launch the Into Orbit season by leading a Core Values booth at a kickoff event. Half of the team participated in two seasons of FIRST LEGO League Jr. and are looking forward to mentoring a new team for Mission Moon.
During their rookie season, the Tie Dye Gummy Divas won a spirit award at ROBOTICON 2017, a Research Award at the Minotaur Madness tournament, a Rising Stars Award at the qualifying tournament, and a Judges Award at the Regional Championship.
The Tie Dye Gummy Divas are mentored by rookie FIRST Tech Challenge team VISION, which includes members of three former FIRST LEGO League teams: Porygon Programmers, IncrediBotz, and Ev3rstormers.
