Founded in 2014, FIRST Robotics Competition team 5276 the Edgar Allan Ohms robotics team was the first FIRST Robotics Competition team that
was started and operated out of a public library, headquartered at the Land O’Lakes Public Library in Pasco County for its first five years.
In 2019, the team moved to the Advanced Manufacturing & Robotics Center (AMRoC) Fab Lab, in Tampa. A program of the nonprofit Foundation for Community Driven Innovation, whose members had long mentored the team, the Ohms’ new home continues its legacy of public accessibility, providing inclusive opportunities for more youth to become involved in FIRST Robotics Competition.
Now in its 8th season, the team is proud to help host the 2022 ROBOTICON Rapid React Off-Season! Alumni of the Edgar Allan Ohms have continued refining the custom Field Management System they began developing while they were students on the team. Our Off-Season this year will utilize a full version of the “Nevermore FMS” as a test for ultimately open-sourcing the system for other teams to use for scrimmages and hosting their own off-season events more easily.
The Ohms is sponsored by FCDI, AMRoC Fab Lab, Lockheed Martin, the Department of Defense, and SOFWERX.
