Team Duct Tape is a  FIRST Tech Challenge community based youth robotics team, based at the Advanced Manufacturing & Robotics Center (AMRoC) Fab Lab in Tampa.

Now in its 14th season, students in our community team are guided by the Curiosity Driven Learning guidelines set by founding organizers and outlined in our AMRoC Youth Robotics Program Handbook.:

Our goal is to elevate character, teamwork, and academic and intellectual achievement above all else. We do not seek to win at all costs, but rather to give team members an enduring hands-on STEM experience that will serve them well into their futures. Putting character before competition has yielded a consistently high achieving team that reliably brings home trophies year after year, and is well regarded not just statewide but nationally. We also have a lot of fun!

Team Duct Tape has been to the FIRST Tech Challenge Championship three times, and in the  2020 “virtual” season, the team earned awards at the League Championship level and a spot in the State Championship.  Coach Terri Willingham was named the Compass Award winner in the 2020 Ultimate Goal season, at the Florida Championship.

We’re proud of our accomplishments and head into the 2021 season with a dozen students, at least half of them new to robotics.

Thank you to our wonderful sponsors: Lockheed Martin, the US Department of Defense, SOFWERX, the Foundation for Community Driven Innovation and AMRoC Fab Lab.  .  .

You can see FTC Team 2845 and all the other great FIRST Tech Challenge teams participating in our last day of ROBOTICON programming on Saturday, October 23 from 11am to 4pm, at AMRoC Fab Lab at University Mall in Tampa!
