NEXT Robotics Competition – Starting at 2pm
2020 NEXT Game Design Challenge, the new game by alumni for alumni will be demoed during ROBOTICON 2021 during the Alumni Day at AMRoC Fab Lab on October 16.Here’s how it’s supposed to work: Played on a 12×24 ft. field, in OUTAGE, two alliances will compete to power their battery. Each alliance will consist of two teams that will work together to collect and shoot volts to charge their battery. Teams will be able to increase the charging rate by taking possession of the boost plate in the center of the field. At the end of the match, teams will be able to climb the boost bar resulting in additional power.”
But it’s still the Time of COVID and everyone has met with challenges, including our intrepid M3 alum. So we’re doing a Outage Demo Day this year, and then will plan for a full game play experience in 2022.
Alumni Workshops and Exhibits
We’ll have ROBOTICON partner and sponsor exhibits from groups like SOFWERX, Tampa Drones, Bay Area Manufacturing Association, NET SVS and others along with workshops on career planning and resources, and demos on drones, interesting tech, and more! The full schedule will be posted soon.
Alumni Social
Our Alumni Social kicks off at 4pm with food and refreshments and a Game Night organized by our friends at RESO! We’ll have board and video games, VR games, and HADO Augmented Reality game play till 8pm!
