We value hard work and teamwork but above all, we love being a part of the growth and excitement around FIRST in North Florida. This year we started SLIC, which stands for Student Leadership Innovation Council, a FIRST Tech Challenge league quality initiative developed to encourage student-to-student connections, mentoring, and support.
The Swamp Bots also started and mentored the Platybots FIRST LEGO League team #25410 in 2016 and were proud to see them progress to the FIRST LEGO League Championship in Houston last season where they won a Global Award for Teamwork. Four of the Platybots team members have now gone on to become members of the Swamp Bots for the 2018 season.
Also, the Swamp Bots are busy this year mentoring a rookie FIRST LEGO League team known as the Funky Monkeys #38105 and have a second rookie FIRST LEGO League team in the works. The Swamp Bots love to Make It Loud at local schools, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, Cub Scout packs, and local businesses.
