It’s time to meet the FIRST Robotics Competition Team 5276, the Edgar Allan Ohms ! Founded in  2013 as the first FIRST Robotics Competition team in the country based out of a public library, the team is still operating within the Land O’ Lakes Branch Library in Pasco County Florida.   The Ohms is featured on a WTSP Channel 10 News feature, with reporter Sean Streicher,  about ROBOTICON this week – Look for them in a piece airing during the morning show and again around noon, on Thursday, September 27!

Our team consists of students from a variety of schools across Pasco County that come together to benefit the community and share our interests in robotics. We have helped create a makerspace inside the Library, which is open to the public and dubbed “The Foundry”. Throughout the year, the team helps run many programs at the library for people of all ages like programming clubs and woodworking. Additionally, the library offers internships for graduating members to work in the makerspace, and many alumni return to the team as mentors.

We would like to say a special “thank you” to our sponsors: Pasco County Public Libraries, The Breakfast Nook, Solid Works and Electro Mechanical Solutions.

You can see the Edgar Allan Ohms in action at ROBOTICON September 29 & 30 at the Yuengling Center!  Click the image below for your free tickets!
