Due to Hurricane Irma, our Tampa Robot in 1 Weekend event has been postponed until the weekend of September 16.  As before, the event will be held at University Mall, with thanks to the Mall, !p, Foundation for Community Driven Innovation (FCDI) , VJK Pizza, Winn Dixie, and ROBOT League of Tampa Bay.

Robot in 3 Days has adjusted the challenge rules in Florida a bit, extending submission of final videos into the middle of the month. But the parameters remain the same:

Whatever Florida teams’ start times on either Saturday, we have 36 hours to build and prototype. After 36 hours, no new prototypes or functionality may be added to the robot, although teams can still decorate, fine tune and repair parts that break during filming.  Florida Ri1W teams have until September 20th to upload video to the Robot in 3 Days share drive, from where it will be made available for all the FIRST community to enjoy and learn from.

If you’re a FIRST alumni and had wanted to join in but couldn’t this weekend, if next weekend works for you, you can still sign up HERE.

With the cancellation of most Florida live kick off events, teams will be able to watch the kick off from home on the FIRST Inspires channel at Twitch on Saturday September 9 starting at 11:30am EST.  2017-18 FIRST Tech Challenge season materials can be found at  firstinspires.org/robotics/ftc/game-and-season .

Good Luck and Go Teams!
