Busch Gardens Brings Real Life Animal Allies to ROBOTICON!

busch_gardens_tampa_logoWe’re super happy to announce that Busch Gardens Tampa will be on hand at fll-studentsROBOTICON with a great wildlife display that we’re sure our FIRST LEGO League and FIRST LEGO League Jr. teams – and the general public – will really enjoy!

FIRST is always #MoreThanRobots , and children in our FIRST LEGO League Jr. and FIRST LEGO League programs not only learn the basics of design, programming and engineering, but they also learn about real world issues and do research to develop potential solutions to modern challenges.

This year’s game challenges for our younger students are all about our relationships with animals.  For our K-4th graders in FIRST LEGO League Jr., their theme is Creature Craze, where over 40,000 children worldwide will dive into the wonders of the animal kingdom to learn about our furry, feathered, and finned friends.  In FIRST LEGO Lcc_treeoflife_finals_flljrgreeneague, more than 28,000 teams of students age 9 to 14* will look into the eyes of our ANIMAL ALLIES to consider what might be possible when we learn to help each other.

We’re really excited to partner with Busch Gardens for ROBOTICON and to be able to connect our students with the great wildlife and animal education resources at Busch Gardens® Tampa , which is one of the largest zoos in North America, with more than 12,000 animals representing 250 species and more than 30 threatened and endangered species in the park’s various animal habitats.

You can also find Busch Gardens at the Fall Festival at the University of South Florida Botanical Gardens – another great feature of the USF Community!  At the Gardening Event table, Busch Gardens will have more animal ambassadors and the opportunity for children to make their own butterfly feeder.  Click here to check out Camps suncoastfll_web_banner_correctand Educational Programs at Busch Gardens!

And thanks to our friends at the Tampa Bay Sports Commission, you can also enjoy some  great discounts at Busch Gardens and Adventure Island with the flyer shown at left, just for ROBOTICON attendees!
