Guests will be able to tour Team Pits to see team members working on their robots, and have a chance to talk to students, visit the Exhibit Hall to enjoy STEM demos, vendors and organizations, and learn more about technical, math and science career and college opportunities.
The mission of ROBOTICON Tampa Bay is to increase public awareness of FIRST K-12 education programs and to provide FIRST Robotics teams with a high-quality, post-season competitive event that provides opportunities for pre-season skill building, networking, and college and career readiness experiences. ROBOTICON also provides a fun and unique way for the general public to enjoy this “Sport for the Mind” and learn about the hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics that FIRST offers. We’re honored that Bright House Networks is joining us in this mission.
About the Bright Ideas Contest
Bright Ideas STEM from Today’s Youth is a multi-state competition where high school students show how STEM – that’s science, technology, engineering and math – can bring their idea to life. Starting September 22, students ages 14-18 living in Bright House Networks service areas, can submit two essays that describe 1) how their idea, powered by STEM, makes the world a better place and 2) what STEM tools will power that idea to make it work, and an accompanying video or drawing about the idea. The Grand Prize is an opportunity for the winner to work with Fahrenheit 212, a marketing and product development company, to develop his or her idea. Complete contest information and rules are available at the Bright Ideas website.
