Impossible to miss in their bright orange shirts and signature cheer – “Oink, Oink, Boom!” – FIRST Robotics Competition team 1902, Exploding Bacon, joins the ROBOTICON 2026 Off-Season, where they’ll be hosting some workshops in addition to playing Rebuilt with other participating teams. Here’s a little more about the team.
4-H Exploding Bacon Team 1902, is a community based FIRST Robotics Competition team serving Central Florida. We have students from 4 counties, 12 schools and homeschoolers. Our goal is to grow capable leaders who will make a positive impact while having fun doing cool things that help people.
We are a Hall of Fame team and the founders of #FIRSTLikeAGirl. We have a mascot named Wilbur
whose “Guide to Safe and Fun Mascotting” was published on our YouTube channel last season.
Also, our FIRSTLikeAGirl team hosts an Instagram Livestream every month to provide community for
girls in STEM.
Exploding Bacon’s sponsors include Novelis, Ball, Rev Robotics, Metal Essence, Leidos, and Rockwell.
FRC teams interested in joining Exploding Bacon in the ROBOTICON Off-Season fun October 17 & 18 can register here and spectators can secure their free guest tickets here.
